Terms & Conditions

REFERENCES:
1. THE SERVICE is Story Camp which offers an educational experience focussed on fostering a love of reading in young children. 
2. THE HIRER is the person hiring the equipment and whose name appears on the booking form. The Hirer must be at least 18 years of age.
3. THE PERIOD OF HIRE means the time commencing with the collection of or arrival of the equipment onsite and terminating when the equipment is removed or returned. 
4. A BOOKING is the contract entered into by the Hirer and the Service.
5. THE EQUIPMENT is the tent/s furnishing provided for the use of The Hirer.
6. HIRE CHARGES is the total amount due under the invoice including delivery, assembly, disassembly and collection / return of the equipment

1). BOOKING INFORMATION:
1.1 The ‘Hirer’ means the person signing the booking form for ‘Hire of equipment’.
1.2 Story Camp  refers to Sheena Wright & Sheila O’Donnell (Education Consultants).
1.3 Provisional bookings booked more than 14 days in advance will be held for 48 hours, whereupon the non-refundable deposit will be required to secure the date. Dates not confirmed within these times will be released. Bookings made within 14 days of the event  date will require immediate full payment.
1.4 A deposit of £100 (non-refundable) is required to confirm the booking in addition to a completed Booking Form.
For parties and weddings the balance plus an additional returnable security deposit of £75 per tent is payable 14 days before the event. The security deposit covers damage, breakages or extra cleaning that may be required. The security deposit is refunded once the equipment has been collected undamaged and fully checked (normally within 48 hours). In the unlikely event that any additional items are damaged or missing, replacement costs also will be deducted or charged (see damages list). The balance will be returned within seven days, minus any deductions, which will be fully itemised.
1.5 Final balances are required no less than 14 days prior to the event. Bacs payment preferred and account details are provided on the invoice.
1.6 The final numbers and choices must be confirmed at least 14 days prior to the date of the booking. Any booking reductions after this time will still be charged for at the previous rate, with no refunds due.
1.7 For parties and weddings the Hirer must disclose the property type and access to the venue at the time of booking. In the event that access is limited or difficult, it is at Story Camp's discretion whether the booking is accepted. In the event that access is difficult and additional people are required to set up the equipment an additional cost may be incurred. Story Camp will accept no liability or responsibility if we arrive and find that restricted or difficult access means your booking cannot go ahead. No refunds will be given if your booking cannot go ahead because of difficult access which has not been disclosed at the time of booking.
1.8 Story Camp takes no responsibility for allergies. We are likewise not responsible at any point, for the welfare of the children, which remains the full responsibility of the Hirer.
1.9 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information given to Story Camp and to pass over such information in sufficient time for Story Camp to perform the contract safely and without risk, within 14 days of the event occurring, to avoid last minute disappointment.
1.10 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring adequate indoor space is available for the equipment to be set up and arranged. There should be space to move around the tents which is required to ensure the safety of the children when they are moving in and around the tents. The tents measure Width 100cm x Length 110cm x Height 110cm.
 1.11 The Hirer must be present at the agreed time for set up and pack down/pick up of the equipment. If the Hirer chooses the option to collect and return the Story Camp equipment, collection and return times listed in the booking confirmation must be adhered to. In the event of late return additional hire charges will be incurred.  
1.12 The Hirer must ensure that the area is clean and free of furniture prior to our arrival ready for the tents to be set up and styled. Story Camp cannot move your furniture. Delay in the start time may incur a waiting fee.
1.13 Story Camp will not refund in full or in part the monies paid in the event that adequate space is not available to set up the equipment which The Hirer has confirmed on the Booking Form.
1.14 Story Camp reserves the right to make any changes to the services as is deemed necessary by Story Camp without notice to the Hirer. If the required service is less than originally requested e.g. the number of tents booked, the requisite refunds will be made to the Hirer.
1.15 The Hirer is responsible and liable for any damage or injury to a person occurring from or as a result of inappropriate use, or misuse, or reckless use of any Story Camp equipment.
1.16 Smoking or vaping is not permitted in the proximity of Story Camp equipment. If smoking is detected The Hirer shall forfeit the full security deposit as deep cleaning will be required.
1.17 In line with 1.12 above, it is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the children are supervised at all times. Story Camp will charge the Hirer for the costs of any damage to any property caused by your breach of this clause (see damage list).
1.18 It is the Hirers responsibilities to ensure the children comply with all reasonable instructions from Story Camp staff to ensure the safety of the attendees and other persons present. Story Camp may suspend the event if you are in breach of this clause.
1.19 Story Camp will accept no liability or responsibility to the Hirer for any injury, damages, costs, losses, claims, expenses, demands and proceedings including property of Hirer, or any third party and their guests, or any consequential loss in these regards.
1.20 Story Camp shall use all reasonable endeavours to provide the services in accordance with the contract and shall perform the services with reasonable skill, care and diligence.
1.21 Story Camp shall process all data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
1.22 It is not the intention of Story Camp to violate any copyright laws and all themes are only inspired by popular children’s stories and trends.

2) SUPERVISION: Story Camp solely provides the equipment and our service does not include the supervision, entertainment or care of children:
2.1 The Hirer is responsible for the care and safety of all the children and should ensure that all parents/carers are aware that Story Camp are not responsible for the care and safety of the children.
2.2 The Hirer will be required to take responsibility for all children that have been left by their parent/guardian.

3) CANCELLATION: (by the Hirer):
3.1 In the unfortunate event of the booking being cancelled by the Hirer, the following refund policy will be applied. Cancellation of a booking up to one month prior will not forfeit the deposit paid.
3.2 Cancellation of a booking within 14 days, the Hirer will be refunded 25% of the total monies paid.
3.3 Cancellation of a booking within the week of the event will unfortunately forfeit all monies paid.

4) CANCELLATION (by Story Camp):
4.1 Story Camp reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time for any reason, Story Camp will try to give as much notice as possible.
4.2 Upon any such cancellation Story Camp will refund to the Hirer any monies paid to Story Camp in respect of the booking, but Story Camp will not be liable to pay any compensation to the Hirer or any other person for any loss, damage or expenditure arising directly or indirectly from the cancellation.
4.3 Story Camp reserves the right to terminate the booking without notice if there is a breach of our conditions.

5) LIABILTIY:
5.1 Nothing in these terms shall limit or exclude the liability of Story Camp, which may not be limited or excluded by law, including without limitation liability for death or personal injury caused by Story Camp negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation.
5.2 Subject to the above Story Camp shall have no liability (whether arising under contract, tort, or for breach of statutory duty or otherwise) to the extent that such liability would not have arisen but for the Hirer’s breach of the contract.
5.3 Subject to the above clauses Story Camp aggregate liability for all claims in relation to the contract (whether arising under contract, tort, or for breach of statutory duty or otherwise) shall not exceed the price paid by the Hirer.
5.4 This contract is governed and construed in accordance with English law and the parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
5.5 No information included in this booking form will be disclosed to any third party.
5.6 It is the responsibility of the Hirer to inform guests accordingly of the above terms and conditions.
5.7 We have suitable public liability insurance and take the upmost care to ensure the safety of children.
5.8 We use high quality products and follow strict hygiene routines.
5.9 Liability cannot be taken for reactions or injury sustained whilst attending an event thereafter.
5.10 All persons using Story Camp's equipment do so at their own risk and it is the Hirer who is responsible / liable for any damage or injury occurring from, or as a result of inappropriate use or misuse or reckless use.
5.11 This information is given for the safety of all people attending an event hiring Story Camp equipment and it is the sole responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that they are understood and adhered to by all.

6) OWNERSHIP:
6.1 All equipment remains at all times the property of Story Camp. The Hirer may not sub-hire or part with possession of the equipment or any part of it and may not allow any lien or encumbrance to be created over the equipment.

7) ATTENDANCE:
7.1 The Hire charges do not include attendance by us, other than to set up or dismantle the equipment. This applies to school bookings other than when the chosen package identifies that we will work alongside school staff. 
7.2 Story Camp staff are DBS checked, have suitable public liability insurance and take the utmost care to ensure the safety of children at all times.
